We are seeking Traffic Engineer/Project Manager with expertise in Traffic analyses, traffic impact studies, feasibility studies, safety analysis, developments of regional impacts, traffic operations studies, timing implementation and fine tuning, signal timing evaluation, signal/stop warrant analysis, development of traffic signal designs, design studies, accident/crash analysis and intersection improvement plans, and report writing.
• 7-10 years of professional experience in traffic engineering, specifically related to traffic impact analysis, operations analysis, etc • Masters Degree in Engineering, with a concentration in Traffic. • Licensed Professional Engineer (State of Florida). • Areas of expertise include Traffic Engineering Studies, Traffic Impact Analyses, Corridor Studies, Signal Timing and Coordination, Travel Forecasting, Accident Crash Analysis, and Planning Studies. • Proficient in the use of traffic engineering software, such as Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS+, Sidra, HCS, CORSIM, TGEN and other traffic and signal operations analysis software required. • Working knowledge and skills in ArcGIS and GIS-TM, and to prepare various types of maps and/or graphics; maintain databases; compile and analyze geographic data. • Project Manager in the preparation of engineering reports, studies and analyses in a diversity of areas, including traffic operations, safety, access management, and transportation planning projects. • Performs traffic operational analysis through the use of microscopic simulation software for corridor traffic, and interchange studies. • Performs field observations for traffic analysis; collects existing field conditions data for design and analysis; and, compiles and analyzes field data. • Ability to create, manage, and review Concurrency Management. • Familiar with the performance and review of traffic impact analysis for development and redevelopment in the State of Florida. Determines scope and/or reviews traffic studies prepared by outside entities for site development/site impacts; review zoning and variance applications for traffic and transportation impacts as well as right of way impacts. • Attends and makes presentations to Technical Staff, Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeal, and/or City Council Meetings, as needed. • Develops & reviews signal timing-timing parameters for new installations; analyzes traffic count data; evaluates existing signal timings. • Develops & reviews signal timing-timing parameters for new installations; analyzes traffic count data; evaluates existing signal timings. • Performs traffic calming studies and presents recommendations of traffic calming solutions to Clients ensuring traffic calming devices are in compliance with applicable traffic control device regulations, standards, and specifications. • Performs crash data analysis and developed crash diagrams; develops and maintains top accident location list, recommends solutions, and monitors results. • Familiarity with conducting research, field studies, and drafting Transportation Master Plans. • Strong quantitative and interpretive abilities; verbal and written communication skills; and presentation skills required.
