Maricopa Association of Governments has an opening for a professional engineer interested in a career in regional planning, and with experience in the areas of Transportation Safety and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). The primary focus of this position will be Transportation Safety Planning. Must have excellent organizational; written and verbal communication; research; analytical and customer service skills.
Crash Data Analysis: Expertise and experience is required in crash data analysis utilizing large relational databases and the application of GIS for road safety analysis.
Traffic Engineering and ITS: Traffic signal operations and urban ITS applications.
Desired experience includes: familiarity with applicable standards, practices and software tools related to Safety and ITS, such as: MUTCD, Highway Safety Manual, GIS, MS Access, SQL, IHSDM, HCS, SYNCHRO.
A bachelor’s degree in civil/transportation engineering and professional registration is required with at least 5 years of relevant experience in transportation safety. A master’s degree is preferred.
