The Quality Engineer is responsible for all customer communication related to the high pressure pump product. He/she will also supervise the quality engineer responsible for troubleshooting manufacturing processes to improve and correct quality issues. Additionally, the position will be responsible for customer interface on quality topics.
Core Responsibilities -Respond to customer concerns. -Develop, coordinate and track the implementation of 8D reports, internal and external. -Maintain external performance metrics. -Develop quality improvement plans. -Submit PPAPs. -Develop, conduct and/or coordinate quality related training programs. -Work with other quality engineers, manufacturing engineers, and operations to improve process capabilities. -Develop control plans, inspection instructions, PFMEA’s and process flow diagrams -Assist in APQP. -Participate in Continuous Improvement activities (i.e. Scrap Reduction, Cost Reduction, Improved Efficiencies, etc.).
-Minimum 5 years working experience in a related field. -Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. -Knowledge in all automotive quality management tools and standards (APQP, AIAG Requirements, Six -Sigma, ISO / TS 16949, Statistics, SPC and Capability Indices. -Clear understanding of GD&T and Metrology. -Strong working knowledge of Process Flow Charts, FMEA's, and Control Plans. -Experience with 8D problem solving techniques (Is/Is not, Ishikawa diagram, 5 Why) including the use of D.O.E.
