The Manager/Environmental oversees a team with the responsibility for the strategic direction of the Corporation’s environmental compliance and oversight of the five operating divisions, Paiute Pipeline, and Corporate. This position ensures objectives are achieved by providing leadership and systematic support.
Manage and coordinate policies, procedures, standards, and training for environmental activities affecting companywide operations
Monitor and track proposed changes and develop written comments for environmental regulations including the National Environmental Policy Act, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act, Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-know Act, Occupational Safety and Health Act and other federal, state and local environmental-related regulations
Oversee and manage an Environmental Management System to ensure that Company activities are conducted in compliance with regulations and corporate expectations
Inform management of situations related to environmental concerns that could adversely affect the safety or health of employees, other personnel, or impact the Company
Provide guidance and relevant environmental information to department, division operations, and staff groups concerned with developing written operations and maintenance standards
Oversee development of audit protocols and implementation of formal environmental audits
Manage facility and operations inspections to ensure compliance with the Environmental Policies and Procedures sections of the Operations Manual, federal, state, and local regulations
Oversee development and implementation of new programs to address the requirements of new and revised environmental regulations
Oversee the data collection and reporting provisions for current state and federal required and voluntary greenhouse gas related reports
Oversee written correspondence on meetings with state and federal environmental agencies as it applies to construction and maintenance projects, permitting, compliance issues, data requests, and audit results
Oversee and manage due diligence surveys and investigations associated with acquisition of new properties or new business opportunities, the modification of existing structures and property, and disposal of existing structures and property to determine environmental liabilities
Oversee maintenance of corporate and division environmental compliance records
Work with vendor, contractors, and consultants to provide quality products and services
Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned Regular and predictable attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
This position requires a minimum of eight years of progressive and relevant experience. This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited university, or a related discipline with significant experience.
A Certified Environmental Manager (CEM) designation or equivalent and/or an advanced degree from an accredited university is preferred.
