Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is experiencing unprecedented growth. We are looking to hire an on-call construction administrator(s) to work with our aviation group. Responsibilities include construction administration on airfield pavement and electrical systems aviation projects; coordination of survey work and materials testing; representing the owner in monitoring construction activities for compliance with plans and specifications; assisting with progress meetings. The ability to pass security screening at air carrier airports, overnight stays and travel will be required.
This hours for this position could vary weekly from zero to 40, and potentially sometimes more than 40. This position will be located at various project sites around Michigan and possibly other locations; it is currently an on-call (i.e., no benefits) position which could potentially be converted to a regular, benefits-eligible position.
The successful candidate will have an associate degree (or higher) in civil engineering, electrical engineering, civil technology, electrical technology, construction administration/management, or a related field AND three years of relevant experience; OR if no degree, must have at least five years of relevant construction administration experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following: civil/electrical construction administration/observation; reading civil construction plans and specifications; survey equipment; ASTM-standard construction testing procedures; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or AutoCAD software.
