The Suffolk County Water Authority is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer for our Engineering Department in Great River, NY. The successful applicant will be responsible for Civil Engineering designs pertaining to the construction of new waterworks facilities including the buildings required to house water filtration systems, chemicals, control systems, wells and booster pumps.
Performing civil design work involving the renovation, repair and maintenance of existing waterworks facilities, civil site work and associated piping systems.
Preparation of project specifications, bid documents and drafting of the required contract drawings for the proposed work.
Will act as a site inspector and/or project manager for various construction projects.
BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited school with an emphasis on Structural Engineering.
Two – five years relevant experience preferred.
Previous design experience required; engineering field work preferred.
Candidates must possess a valid NY State driver’s license.
