The Director of Rail Systems is a strategic leader in the Capital Metro Rail Team who will be responsible for the rail systems engineering and operation and maintenance (O & M) activities. This position will play a critical role in the direct management of the Positive Train Control System and the Rail Operations Project Controls. Other areas of responsibility include managing the rail projects contracts. The Program Manager Rail Fleet Services, Engineering Program Manager III and the Technical Project Controls Specialist report directly to this position.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Systems Technology, Information Systems or related field. An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the above stated minimums on a year for year basis.
Eight (8) years progressive railroad and /or rail transit signal and communication or rail vehicle systems maintenance and engineering experience including three (3) years of supervisory experience.
Railroad and or rail transit start up experience preferred.
Project Management Professional certification or the ability to obtain a PMP within 24 months of employment.
Railroad and or rail transit systems project management experience preferred.
