The Tennessee Department of Transportation provides citizens of Tennessee and travelers with one of the best transportation systems in the country. TDOT is a multimodal agency with responsibilities in building and maintaining roads, aviation, public transit, waterways, railroads, cycling and walking. The Deputy Commissioner and Bureau Chief of Environment and Planning is responsible for four divisions within the Department of Transportation: The Long Range Planning Division, Environment Division, Multimodal Division and Freight/Logistics Division. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative but decisive leader, that believes in serving others with passion and integrity. The candidate will be able to demonstrate success in providing innovative and creative transportation solutions to complex organization, community and business problems. The preferred knowledge, skill, and abilities to satisfactorily perform job duties are normally acquired through at least ten (10) years of increasingly responsible management experience in transportation. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in urban planning, transportation management, public administration, environmental science, environmental/civil engineering or other closely related field is required. |
