The Director of Food Safety, Quality and Consumer Affairs in the Central Specialty Pet division is responsible for overall management of quality, food safety, laboratory and consumer response for pet foods, aquariums, pet accessories and bedding across multiple locations. In this position you will work closely with cross-functional teams such as Marketing, Procurement, Product Development and Operations teams.

B.S. degree required in science field. Advanced degree a plus
At least 5 years of experience in leadership position in quality assurance/quality control methodology and processes, food safety plans, and Quality Management Systems
Certified as PCQI, HACCP, SQF Practitioner
Excellent written and communication skills are required.
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access required.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrated ability in dealing professionally and effectively with people concerning sensitive/confidential issues.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple short- and long-term projects.
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Ability to conduct himself/herself in a professional manner, including appearance and demeanor, at all times.
Must maintain a valid and current driver’s license, as well as meet requirements of Central Garden & Pet Motor Vehicle Policy.
