The primary role of the Customer Quality Engineer is to ensure that all products manufactured by the organization meet customer specifications, achieve expected quality and reliability levels.
The Customer Quality Engineer is responsible to address customer claims, lead corrective and preventive actions, support government work and requirements.
This position reports to the QEHS Supervisor.
Responsible for evaluating and investigating customer concerns promptly and effectively. Follow-up with customers on progress and resolution.
Develop, submit and track requests for deviations/waivers stemming from nonconforming material.
Responsible for the corrective action/preventive action processes to ensure that identified causes are addressed, and systems are improved to prevent recurrence.
Perform compliance audits to customer requirements as defined on customer’s P.O.. Document audit results and coordinate required corrective actions.
Responsible for quality review and achieving customer quality expectations, including MPP and Special Inspection processes. Accountable to set and achieve source inspection for government related work.
Responsible for the site NDT program and compliance.
Training of new and existing employees on Quality processes and requirements.
Lead and mentor teams in problem solving and root cause identification efforts. Those initiatives include continuous improvements activities.
Support Supplier qualification and issue resolution.
Ensures compliance with company Quality requirements.
Document, track and report Quality company data.
Advocate for work safety, and EHS in general
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:
Bachelor of Science in Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, or related engineering field (Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Preferred).
Minimum 3 years of cross functional experience in Quality Assurance and Operations in a high precision manufacturing setting.
Must have solid understanding of QMS Processes and ISO 9001
Proficiency in process control tools (SPC, Process Capability, DOE, etc)
Excellent Access/Excel skills as well as database data extraction and analytics
Preferably an expert in Lean and Advanced Problem Solving (Six Sigma, 8D,…) usage with hands on experience
Ability to work independently and in a team setting
Experience QMS audit processes.
Formal Lean and 6-sigma black belt (or other advanced problem-solving method) certifications are preferred with demonstrated utilization of the methodologies.
Proven ability to facilitate teams and lead improvement projects.
Express a positive attitude, problem solver and strong team collaboration.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills and excellent listening ability required.
Limited travel required: up to 10%.
