This position will support the Mauritania & Senegal asset team with detailed financial analysis including preparation and monitoring of budgets, economic calculations, modeling and forecasting. This role will also work closely with Accounting and Planning groups to support performance management reporting, the Long-Range Plan and short-term financial outlook processes. This job requires a finance/accounting or technical background within the upstream oil and gas industry, as well as excellent communication and strong modeling skills.
Essential Responsibilities and Job Duties • Coordinates asset specific planning assumption input into annual Budget and Long-Range Plan and short-term financial outlook processes, including monthly/quarterly updates and contributes to the development of associated presentations/materials, which includes cost, capital expenditure, and valuation metrics. • Detailed understanding of critical business drivers and support critical decision making related to the Mauritania & Senegal assets, requiring knowledge of exploration, development, and eventually production operation activities. • Support Senior Leadership Team with ad-hoc analysis and preparation of internal/external materials. • Perform project-specific economic evaluations and prepare related asset management reports. • Support and collaborate with Accounting, Investor Relations, and Finance departments on quarterly Market Guidance discussions as well as internal and external presentations. • Assist with economic modeling analysis for prospective and development projects and corporate planning, including related forward-looking financial statement outputs. • Handle other projects, duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements • Minimum 2-5 years of finance and accounting experience, preferably in the petroleum industry, demonstrating progressing analytical responsibilities/roles • Proven results-based team player able to engage other division managers (Financial, Development, Exploration etc.) • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to develop and present a business case with limited guidance • Proficiency in financial and economic modeling • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering required, preferably with an emphasis on finance • Master’s Degree in Business Administration would be looked on favorably • Skilled with computer applications such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel • Able to work in a fast-paced environment Attributes • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Proven ability to prioritize and multi-task • Exceptional productivity skills.
