Title: Electrical Engineer - Levels I & II

Electrical Engineer - Level I
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under general supervision, perform electrical design work for Parks assets.
- Manage electrical engineering projects designed both in house and through consultants. Ensure they remain on schedule and within budget.
- Complete condition surveys, assessments, research, feasibility studies and scope estimates.
- Develop drawings, specifications, calculations and cost estimates for electrical engineering projects.
- Conduct field inspections as required throughout the design process ensuring projects are in compliance with codes and regulations.
- Direct, manage and review consultant designs.
- Review the work of junior-level engineers and give guidance and direction as appropriate.
- Prepare and give presentations internally and externally for project approvals.
- May represent NYC Parks in relations with city agencies, contractors and their representatives, damage claimants and their representatives, consultants and the general public.
Electrical Engineer - Level II
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under direction or independently based on experience level, perform electrical design for Parks assets.
- Manage large complex electrical engineering projects designed both in house and through consultants. Ensure they remain on schedule and within budget.
- Complete condition surveys, assessments, research, feasibility studies and scope estimates.
- Develop drawings, specifications, calculations and cost estimates for electrical engineering projects.
- Conduct field inspections as required before design, during design, and through construction and turnover.
- Direct, manage and review consultant designs.
- Review the work of junior-level engineers and give guidance and direction as appropriate.
- Prepare and give presentations internally and externally for project approvals.
- May represent NYC Parks in relations with city agencies, contractors and their representatives, damage claimants and their representatives, consultants and the general public.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Four (4) years of full-time, satisfactory experience in electrical engineering work; and
- A valid New York State Professional Engineer’s License. Current New York State registration as a Professional Engineer must be maintained for the duration of your employment.
A masters degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) may be substituted for one year of the electrical engineering experience required in “1" above.
This position is exempt from NYC residency requirements.
PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PhotoShop and 3D Rendering.
- A driver license valid in New York State.

Salary:
Level I: $77,921 - $98,128
Level II: $92,640 - $100,000
