Design Alaska is looking for an enthusiastic and charismatic Senior Civil Engineer to join our team. Design Alaska is a full-service Architecture, Engineering, and Surveying firm that provides commercial and institutional design services throughout Alaska. Senior Civil Engineering duties typically include:
- Potential site investigations including existing vegetation, soils, utilities, and road access.
- Interpretation of geotechnical data obtained from borings and pothole investigations and frozen soils.
- Design of transportation networks and building sites to accommodate vehicles and people in arctic locations.
- Analysis of storm water, drinking water, wastewater, solid waste, and hazardous material impact on design.
- Construction cost estimating. Overseeing construction projects and progress inspections.
- Occasional in-state travel is required for site visits.
Design Alaska seeks these desirable attributes in Senior Civil Engineer applicants:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in designing and managing civil engineering projects.
- Demonstrate a broad depth of knowledge in the practice of civil engineering.
- Ability to train and mentor young engineers and EITs.
- Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D or similar software experience.
- Ability to work remotely is negotiable.
