The Owatonna Public Utilities (OPU) has an opening for an Electric Design Project Coordinator. This position is responsible for planning and directing activities with the electric infrastructure design to ensure proper installation, operation, maintenance and service. Duties include coordinating the projects from inception through completion which includes coordination between engineering, maintenance and construction, purchasing, stores and accounting departments. Other duties include field staking and inspections, assists with designs, layout and drawings according to engineering specifications including re-designs, re-builds and new development construction. This position assists the Director of Engineering in promoting, establishing and modifying electric engineering procedures, work processes and standards to meet Owatonna Public Utilities’ goals and objectives.

Qualifications for this position are the following:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or other closely related degree is required and two (2) years electric or related work experience is required.
Or:
2 year Degree/Certificate in the Electrical field is required i.e.; Electric Engineering, Electric Lineworker Program Degree/Certificate, Electrician Program Degree/Certificate or other related degree is required and four (4) years electric work experience is required.
Working knowledge of ESRI and AutoCad software, Microsoft word, Excel and Access software programs is required.
Working knowledge of design code and construction specifications for electric installations is required. Ability to interpret construction/architectural plans is required.
